Welcome to Westside Unitarian Universalist Church, where compassion leads us to work for justice and equality. We are a community of all ages, diverse beliefs and varied life experiences. With deep roots in the past, our living tradition draws on a wide range of Sources for inspiration.
You may be wondering how you would fit in here. Wherever you grew up, whomever you love, whatever identities you claim, no matter to whom you pray or if you pray at all – we welcome you. It is our hope that you will find something at Westside that feeds your heart, mind and spirit as you continue your life’s journey. Please join us at 10:00 or 11:30 for Sunday morning services, and feel free to check out the many other activities of our congregation.
People venture onto this web site, and walk through our doors, for many reasons. What is yours? Perhaps you have been without a religious community, but a difficult patch in life has made you hungry for the company of others who care. Maybe you have seen Unitarian Universalists turn out, time and time again, to speak up for love and justice, and act in solidarity with those who are forgotten or scorned. You may feel the pull to join those who share your commitment to a greener, more loving world. It could be that there is a small child in your home beginning to ask big questions. You may want to provide a spiritual foundation with plenty of room for this precious person to “live the questions” and receive support from a wider community of caring.
Or perhaps the one asking big questions, or longing for something more, is you. If you are a UU looking for a religious home in Fort Worth… if you have left some other tradition that did not accept you or align with your beliefs or values… or if you grew up without a faith community and now crave companionship on your journey, this may be the place for you. Westside offers a community of open-minded people who are committed to living by our 7 principles, including the free and responsible search for truth and meaning, acceptance of one another and encouragement to grow.
Whatever your reasons for exploring here, we welcome the opportunity to get to know you. Our faith is not for everyone, and we won’t pressure you to become a Unitarian Universalist. But many seekers have found in this place a warm community and a natural spiritual home. Might you be such a one?
I invite you to visit us. Come, and find out how Westside can nourish you and help you give your best to a world that needs us all.
